Chelsey Hornsby is a self-taught abstract painter. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design and has run a successful design business for over twenty years. Her design background is influential in her art and painting process. She consciously integrates elements of colour, form, balance, shape and scale into her pieces. Her brush strokes, strong marks, negative space and attention to detail play an important role in each painting. Her goal is to consider all elements on the canvas, hoping for a conceptually stimulating and honest piece of artwork.

Chelsey still stays connected to the design community by taking on small projects and working on commission pieces for other designers. Within a very short period she has carved out a new art practice and name for herself, featuring and selling her art in many local Vancouver shops.

She lives with her husband and two boys, working out of her home studio in New Westminster, BC
